Care and Maintenance Care and Maintenance of umbrellas is minimal at best. For best results, remember to keep your umbrella closed unless you are at home. Violent storms can do extensive damage to umbrellas left open to fend for themselves. Most canopy or covers may be easily removed and washed on gentle cycle with mild detergent.
